do I know if the eggs I buy are from genuine, certified "Laid in Britain"
members?

There
are unique producer identification numbers on each egg. Only those carrying one
of the following numbers is from a genuine, currently approved member, satisfying
all aspects of the "Laid in Britain" Food Safety and Welfare standards.

If
anyone buys,or becomes aware, of any other numbers on eggs being sold as "Laid
in Britain", they will not be genuine. Please send a report; giving
date, location and numbers on the eggs to "Laid in Britain", immediately,
and action will be taken through the local Trading Standards Agency and the Egg
Inspectorate of Defra, which will probably lead to prosecution.
We
will keep a list of any 'illegal' use of the "Laid in Britain" name/logo
on a 'Black List' on this website, so please visit the site regularly to make
sure that you are buying only genuine LIB eggs.
